Ground lamb, sirloin and spicy sausage paired with a unique spice blend, pineapple and water chestnuts for an Asian inspired chili soup.

  • Servings: 8

Ingredients:

1 lb Ground Lamb
1 lb Hot Italian Sausage
½ lb Ground Sirlion
1 cup Chopped Red Bell Pepper
½ cup Chopped Red Onion
2 Tbsp Chopped Fresh Garlic
2 cups Canned Tomato Sauce
¼ cup Soy Sauce
½ cup Sweet & Sour Sauce
1 cup Canned Pineapple Tidbits In Heavy Syrup, undrained
1 cup Canned Sliced Water Chestnuts, drained and chopped
1¼ tsp Salt
3 Tbsp Chili Powder
½ tsp Chinese Five Spice Powder
½ tsp Curry Powder
¼ tsp Cayenne Pepper
1 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
3 Tbsp Chopped Fresh Cilantro
1 Tbsp Grated Fresh Ginger

Directions:

Heat a large heavy pan over medium high heat; add lamb, sausage and sirloin. Brown five minutes and drain. Add pepper, onion and garlic, then saute five minutes. Add remaining ingredients, except cilantro and ginger. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes. Stir in cilantro and ginger then serve.
