Barbeque Pork Pizza

Barbecued port, pineapple, peppers, onions and 2 kinds of cheese--lots of flavor packed on a pre-packaged pizza crust.

Ingredients:

  • 12 inch gourmet pizza crust
  • Olive oil for crust
  • 1 cup of barbeque sauce
  • 1 cup of cooked shredded pork
  • 1/2 cup of pineapple, diced
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 cup of shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup of shredded smoked gouda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place pizza crust on work surface and mist the edges with olive oil. Spread barbeque sauce on the pizza, then top with pork, pineapple, red bell pepper, and green onions. Next top with the swiss cheese and smoked gouda, being sure to distribute evenly. Sprinkle the top with garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. Place pizza directly on top rack of oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. You may also broil for an additional 1-2 minutes to brown cheese if desired. Cool a few minutes before slicing.

Notes: For a softer crust, you may cook on a pizza pan or stone.

Number of servings: 8 Slices
