|⅔ cup||Milk, ¼ c. water, ¼ c margarine (softened), 1 egg, 3 c. bread flour, ¼ c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 2 ½ tsp. regular active dry yeast or 2 ½ tsp. bread machine yeast.|
place all dough ingredients in bread machine pan in order listed. Select sweet dough cycle. Roll dough 3/8" thick on lightly floured board. Cut with floured donut cutter. Cover; let rise on board 35 to 45 min. or until slightly raised. Heat 2 to 3" oil to 375. Fry 2 or 3 donuts at a time for 2 to 3 min., turning as they rise to the surface, until golden brown. Remove from oil, drain on wire rack or paper towels. While warm, roll in sugar, or cool and frost. Makes 20 doughnuts.
