Broccoli with Garlic and Ginger

Broccoli flowerettes are cooked with minced gingerroot and garlic until crisp-tender.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 pound broccoli, cut into florets Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add ginger and garlic; cook 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Add broccoli and water. Cook until water evaporates and broccoli is bright green and crisp-tender. Season with salt and pepper, and serve.
