Butternut Squash with Apples

This side dish is perfect for fall and makes a great addition to roasted pork or chicken. This would also make a great addition to your Thanksgiving spread.
 

Ingredients

  • 1- 1 1/2 lbs butternut squash
  • 1 large apple
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest or to taste
 
Method

Cut squash in half, clean out seeds, cut in slices, and place in a nongreased casserole dish. Peel and slice apples then place on top of squash. Mix together melted butter, brown sugar and flour, then pour over top of squash and apples. Sprinkle orange zest on top of mixture. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 60-70 minutes.
