Start with a frozen cheese pizza and top it with canned chicken, French fried onions, bacon and mozzarella for an inexpensive main dish, snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 10-inch frozen cheese pizza
- 1 5-oz can of chicken, well-drained
- 1 tbsp. dried Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp. garlic powder, or to taste

Method
Cook bacon until crisp. Drain and set aside to cool. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place unwrapped frozen cheese pizza on a pizza pan or appropriate pan. In a small mixing bowl, add chicken, Italian seasonings, salt and garlic powder; mix thoroughly. Cover frozen cheese pizza with chicken. Crumble cooled bacon and sprinkle over chicken mixture evenly. Sprinkle French fried onions over bacon and chicken, then top with mozzarella cheese. Place on middle rack in oven and bake 10-12 minutes, or until pizza is hot and cheese has melted. (If the onions begin to brown before it's done, loosely cover with foil.) Cut into slices and serve. May be used as an appetizer or a snack, too.
Notes: The thinner crust pizza is what I use, as a thicker crust will take longer in the oven. Turning a low cost item, such as the frozen cheese pizza, into a great tasting, more expensive-looking treat is definitely a budget helper.
