|1× 32 oz pkg||Frozen Green Beans|
|1× 24 oz can||Petite Diced Tomatoes|
|¼ cup||Brown Sugar, packed|
|1||Large Onion, diced|
|2 Tbsp||Seasoned Pepper|
|1 Tbsp||Seasoned Salt|
|1× 16 oz can||Red Beans|
Place frozen green beans into a large crock pot. Stir in tomatoes and brown sugar. Set temperature to high. Cut bacon into chunks, fry until done, but not real crisp. Drain nearly all fat from skillet. Brown diced onion in skillet. Stir bacon, onion and seasonings into green bean and tomato mixture. Stir well and cook about 3 hours. Add red beans and continue cooking about another half an hour.
This is so easy to make, and serves a lot, so it great for potluck dinners. My family prefers it instead of the traditional green bean casserole. It is delightfully different and is easily doubled or tripled for big crowds.
