Grapes of Wrath Salad

Grapes of Wrath Salad


¼ cup Firmly Packed Dark Brown Sugar
3 tsp Butter
2 tsp Water
½ tsp Ground Cinnamon
¼ tsp Salt
1 cup sliced Almonds
1 cup Slivered Almonds
1 pkg Cream Cheese, softened, 3 oz
5 tsp Powdered Sugar
¼ tsp Ground Nutmeg
1 cup Heavy Whipping Cram
1 lb Seedless Green Grapes, washed and stemmed
1 lb Seedless Red Grapes, washed and stemmed


Preheat oven to 250. Line rimmed baking sheet with foil and set aside. In small pan, mix brown sugar, butter, water, cinnamon and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until brown sugar dissolves. Add almonds, stirring until well coated. Spread almonds in single layer on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour. Spread baked almonds in single layer on parchment paper; cool completely. In medium bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar and nutmeg. Beat at medium speed with mixer until creamy. Add cream; beat until soft peaks form. To serve, place grapes into serving dishes and top with cram cheese mixture.
