Remembering All Veterans on Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a time when our country takes the time to remember those who died while serving in the United States armed forces. Let's pause and take a minute to remember them.
Let's expand that a bit and also take the time to remember and thank all the men and women who have served, or currently serve, in our military.
Are you a veteran? Do you have a veteran in your family?

Charcoal or Gas Grill?
We use gas....I kind of get sick from the smell of the lighter fluid when my neighbor lights his charcoal....it always seems to blow into our garage even though I keep the window shut because of that.....we used to use charcoal many years ago..

Memorial Day
Friends of ours always have a BBQ. At some point over the weekend we'll be there. I'm also looking forward to staying home, relaxing and hanging around the yard for part of the weekend too.

Thanksgiving Mac and Cheese?
I would never make macaroni and cheese for Thanksgiving....I am too traditional for that. BUT!!!!!! I make it for other times, and everyone always loves it! I love macaroni and cheese myself, and like trying different recipes....... but I always go back to my personal favorite. made with Velveeta. I will look at your recipe and give it a try...... thanks!

Cheese Tip!
When Cheese goes on sale - always get more than what we will use when expiry date is favorable! I grate and freeze one cup at the time and use it later for recipes such as chili - even lasagna !

Breakfast ideas for overnight guests?
When hosting overnight guests for the holidays, what do you make for breakfast?
I like something that is easy and will serve a crowd. This "Cheesy Brunch Casserole" fits the bill perfectly! It is also a great way to use leftover holiday ham the next morning for breakfast :)
My secret ingredient? Use croutons! Seriously, check out The Daily Dish for the full recipe and more hosting ideas: www.betterrecipes.com/blogs/daily-dish/2...

Party Time Tips!
Hmmm .... 3 ounces per person? Obviously you've never met my bunch! They are cheese LOVERS and I think my two boys could eat their weight in cheese! lol
Seriously, I always over buy for get togethers. I never want to run out, so as a result I usually have too much.

Cheese Storage Tip for the Holidays!
Tip - The recommended temperature range for storing cheese is between 35 and 45 degrees Fahrenheit, at a high humidity level, preferably in the bottom vegetable/fruit bin. To avoid accidentally freezing the cheese, don’t store it near the freezer compartment or in the meat bin.
