The flavors of Jamaica on a pizza--ground beef, hot peppers and spicy seasonings then top with plenty of cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 par baked 12 inch pizza crust
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 tsp butter or margarine
  • 2 small white onions, finely chopped
  • 2 small scotch bonnets, jalapeno or habanero chili peppers, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

Method

In a skillet, lightly brown ground beef. Lightly drain grease and set aside. In a separate skillet, melt butter and saute chopped onion and chili until pieces are softened. In this pan, add reserved ground beef, seasonings and egg. Mix well and continue browning for a minute or two, stirring constantly. Spread beef combination on pizza crust and top with cheese. Bake according to pizza crust directions, or until cheese is melted.

Notes: This is my pizza variation of Jamaican patties. It can also be easily halved for 7 inch personal pizzas.

Number of Servings: Approx. 8 slices (2-4 people)
