Pasta Delight


Bow tie pasta is cooked and combined with ground beef, Italian sausage, mushrooms, corn, tomatoes & tomato soup for this hearty pot luck casserole.



Ingredients:

  • 1 16 oz package bow tie pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage, crumbled
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 lb fresh mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can whole kernel corn
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes with Italian seasoning, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded or grated cheese, such as: Parmesan, American, Mozzarella, or Jack

Method

Bring 4 quarts of salted water to a boil in a large pot. Cook pasta until al dente. While pasta cooks, brown meats in a large skillet. Add onions & garlic; saute for 2 minutes. Add mushrooms and saute another minute. Add soup, tomatoes, corn, salt & pepper; mix well. Drain pasta; add to soup and meat mixture, mix well. Put into a shallow baking dish and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees; uncover and bake for 15-20 minutes. Last 5 minutes of baking time, sprinkle cheese on top to melt.

Notes: A family favorite. The recipe can easly be doubled. Transports well for potluck dinners.
