Use a loaf of self rising French bread stuffed with sausage, tomatoes, cheese and olives to create a warm, comforting sandwich dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 self rising French bread
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 3 links cajun smoked sausage, chopped
  • 1 can Rotel tomatoes
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • Jalapeno peppers
  • 1 cup green and black olive, optional

Method

Cook ground beef and sausage until brown. Drain and add tomatoes. Cook on low about 20 minutes. Add cream of mushroom soup and cook about 15 minutes, stirring well. Drain any excess grease. Remove from stove and let cool. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. When bread has finished rising, flatten middle of bread, and spoon meat mixture onto bread. Add shredded cheese and chopped peppers. Add olives and pinch dough together. Bake 35-45 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and spread butter or olive oil on top of bread. Let bread cool before cutting. Slice bread lengthwise before serving.

Notes: I prefer to cut the bread when it's some what cool. This is my very own recipe. I am very busy selling my breads around the Holidays.

Number of Servings: 4-6
