Simple Asian Chicken

Pork or chicken with an Asian flare from soy sauce, vinegar, onion and garlic. A fast and healthy supper your family will enjoy.
 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dark soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 lbs chicken ( thighs and drumsticks are best)
  • OR
  • 2 lbs cut up pork ( 1 inch cubes )

Method

Add chicken or pork to a large pot with a small amount of oil; brown lightly. Add onion and garlic and continue cooking. Add soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar to the pot and mix well. Reduce heat to medium low and place lid on pot. Cook for 45-50 minutes or until meat is tender. Be sure to stir mixture every 15-20 minutes to ensure all pieces of meat are covered with the sauce. After 30 minutes of cooking time, add potatoes. Dish is done when potatoes are fork tender.

 

Notes: Serve over white rice.
