White Clam Pizza

Canned clams, marinated artichoke hearts, arugala and mozzarella are sprinkled on a whole wheat pizza crust to make this pizza.
 

Ingredients

  • Prepared whole wheat pizza dough
  • 1 can chopped clams
  • 1 cup marinated artichoke hearts, drain and reserve juice
  • 1 cup arugala
  • 1/2 to 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Roll out pizza dough to desired thickness. Mix olive oil with 2 to 3 tablespoons of the artichoke marinade reserved from jar and brush on pizza dough. Spread on shredded mozzarella cheese. Add chopped garlic. Drain clams and add them over top and finish with arugala and artichoke hearts. Place in oven at 350 degrees 12 to 15 minutes or until dough is cooked through.

 

Notes: I buy the Trader Joes Pizza dough; it really is good and cooks up really nice; I try to put a little extra oil around the outer edge of the pizza crust so it does not burn.
